Carney: Canada has taken a step in European defence with SAFE
Ottawa, 16 June (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada is the first non-European country to join the European Union (EU)’s SAFE defence initiative.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada is the first non-European country to participate in the EU’s SAFE defence readiness initiative. Carney noted that this step has produced concrete results, stating that Montreal-based Marconi Technologies will produce Canadian-made tactical radios for the Polish Cyber Command. He emphasized that the project is a contract exceeding 10 million dollars and will provide economic benefits to approximately 100 Canadian suppliers.
