Baqaei: The real danger is diverting public attention through politics of fear
Tehran, October 10 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei criticized what he described as threatening rhetoric by the US administration toward Los Angeles and San Diego, arguing that the public was being frightened with an imaginary enemy and that the real danger stemmed from the governing mindset itself.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baqaei criticized the US administration’s security rhetoric.
In a statement on social media, Baqaei argued that an imaginary enemy was being created in the sky to frighten the public and that this was intended to overshadow the real threat on the ground.
Baqaei argued that the real danger was neither beyond the country’s borders nor in the skies over Los Angeles and San Diego, but rather in what he described as a governing mindset that had imposed an illegal war on the world.
Baqaei claimed that the US president had described the destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego as “a very small price to pay” and characterized this approach as “politics of fear.”
Baqaei argued that the public was being frightened with an imaginary threat, the destruction of cities was being presented as an acceptable price, and people’s attention was being diverted from the real danger.
