Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand made a statement on regional security and trade routes.

Anand said: “In an increasingly divided world, open trade routes and diplomacy are vital for security and prosperity.”

Noting that she discussed efforts to protect maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb and to reduce regional tensions, Anand said she spoke with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi about the Canada-Oman roadmap.

Anand said the roadmap would provide a framework to deepen cooperation between the two countries and create new opportunities to advance shared interests.
