Syrian Arab Republic President Ahmed al-Sharaa received UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell in the capital, Damascus.

According to a statement from the Presidency, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani also attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on developing bilateral relations between Syria and the United Kingdom, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.

The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments and stressed the importance of maintaining coordination in order to serve mutual interests and support stability in the region.
