Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker and Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard, Commander of NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine.

Commenting on the meeting, Zelensky said he was pleased to welcome U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker back to Kyiv, adding that he was accompanied on this visit by Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard, Commander of NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine.

Speaking about the main topics of the meeting, Zelensky said: "We had a productive meeting – first and foremost, we discussed how to protect Ukraine's skies by securing additional Patriot interceptor missiles through PURL. This is a critical priority at a time when Russia's intense attacks continue without interruption."

Highlighting defense cooperation with the United States, Zelensky added: "We also discussed the U.S.-Ukraine bilateral defense partnership: President Trump's decision in Ankara to grant Ukraine a license to produce Patriot systems, and the UAV Agreement that our teams are currently working on. It has real potential, and we hope to finalize it soon."
