Zelensky: Energy infrastructure repairs continue around the clock across Ukraine
Kyiv, November 4 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that efforts to repair damage to energy infrastructure caused by Russian attacks and restore electricity supplies were continuing without interruption, reporting power and water outages in numerous regions, particularly Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a review meeting on repairing damage to energy infrastructure following Russian attacks and restoring electricity supplies.
In a statement on social media following the meeting, Zelensky said Russian attacks were continuing almost every day and that repair and restoration work to bring energy infrastructure back into operation was being carried out around the clock.
Thanking repair crews, energy companies, specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) and all units working to ensure public safety, Zelensky noted that repeated attacks and constant air raid alerts were prolonging repair operations.
Emphasizing the need to establish reserves of essential equipment and carry out restoration work after every attack, Zelensky said, "We are working with our partners to replenish our reserves quickly. Agreements have also been reached on new energy support packages."
Drawing attention to the particularly difficult situation in Kyiv, Zelensky reported that residents and businesses in the city were facing power and water outages lasting for hours.
Zelensky said the situation remained challenging not only in the Kyiv region but also in Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia regions. He reported serious difficulties in the Donetsk region due to ongoing fighting, as well as queues and emergency power outages in southern regions.
Stressing that government institutions, regional and local authorities, and companies responsible for electricity, heating and water supplies must accelerate their work nationwide regardless of ownership structure, Zelensky announced that he had instructed the government and law enforcement agencies to present measures by the end of the day to ensure cooperation with companies falling behind in repair and restoration efforts.
Zelensky also noted that he had received a separate report from the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concerning the organization of electronic warfare systems and that the necessary steps had been determined.
