Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, in a message issued on the occasion of Education Workers’ Day, thanked teachers and education workers who continue to perform their duties despite wartime conditions.

Zelenski said: “Today we thank all our education workers — school and preschool teachers, lecturers and all education professionals — for your work and dedication.”

Noting that Ukraine has entered the fifth year of the war, Zelenski said education workers continue to carry out their duties despite air raid alerts, lessons held in shelters and online education.

Zelenski said Russia has intensified its attacks on schools and universities, adding: “I am grateful to all education workers who continue to support our children, educate them and stand by them during this difficult time.”

Stating that education workers make an important contribution to Ukraine’s future every day, Zelenski concluded his message by saying: “Happy Education Workers’ Day. Thank you to each and every one of you for everything you do.”
