The Dow Jones index fell by 1.09% to 51,770.31 points, while the S&P 500 index declined by 1.82% to 7,580 points. The Nasdaq index lost 2.86% of its value, falling to 25,436.99 points.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 index dropped by 3.46% to 28,384.845 points, while the Russell 2000 index ended the trading day down 1.66% at 2,811.844 points.
