Heorhii Tykhyi made a statement regarding the maritime drone incident detected near the Greek island of Lefkada.

Tykhyi stated that Ukraine is grateful to Greece and the Greek people for their strong support since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. He emphasized the high value of the friendly relations between the two countries.

The statement noted that maritime security and the activities of Russia’s “shadow fleet” constitute a shared security concern for both Ukraine and Greece. Ukraine also reaffirmed its commitment to international law and the principles of civilian maritime safety.

The Ukrainian side expressed regret over the incident, stating that it was a consequence of Russia’s ongoing aggression, and called for enhanced cooperation to prevent similar situations in the future.

Tykhyi also said that the incident demonstrates that Russia’s war poses a broad security threat affecting not only Ukraine but also Europe and neighboring countries.
