Turkey’s Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca announced Turkey’s first death due to Coronavirus.

Koca added that 51 more people tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of infected to 98.

Koca said these words at a late night press conference at Health Ministry’s Bilkent Complex, Ankara: “I have lost a patient for the first time today because of the Coronavirus. He (patient who has died) got infected by the virus from a employee of his who had contacts with China. May the gentleman, who is our first loss, rest in peace. Sorrow of his family is our sorrow. We all have to be steadfast facing this first death. Only way to draw the line against this sickness, which has the potential to turn into an epidemic in our country just like it has around the world, is to take precautions.”

Koca added that 51 more people tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of infected to 98.
