Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani received Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi in the capital Damascus.

According to the joint statement, Al-Sharaa conveyed his greetings to Jordan's King Abdullah II, emphasizing the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries and the determination to strengthen them. Safadi also conveyed King Abdullah II's greetings to Al-Sharaa and expressed Jordan's support for Syria and its desire to strengthen the historic fraternal ties between the two countries.

Al-Shaibani and Safadi reaffirmed their determination to continuously develop Jordan-Syria relations and transform them into a comprehensive strategic partnership. The two sides also agreed to strengthen operational and institutional cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The talks also addressed preparations for the third session of the Higher Coordination Council, scheduled to be held in Damascus in October this year. The parties reviewed the implementation of the outcomes of the second session held in Amman last April and the implementation of agreements reached in trade, investment, transportation, customs, water, energy and other priority sectors.

Safadi said Jordan continues to support Syria's reconstruction process on foundations that guarantee the country's unity, sovereignty, security, stability and territorial integrity while protecting the rights of all Syrians. Safadi said Syria's security and stability are a cornerstone of regional security and stability.

The parties also discussed developments in southern Syria and efforts to implement the joint roadmap concerning the stability of Suwayda Governorate and southern Syria. The meeting emphasized the importance of protecting the security and rights of all Syrians and ensuring the sovereignty of the Syrian state over its entire territory.

Safadi welcomed the decision to dissolve the Syrian Democratic Forces and integrate them into Syrian military institutions, describing the step as an important development toward strengthening Syria's unity, security and stability.

The two ministers also condemned repeated Israeli attacks and violations against Syrian territory. They said the attacks violate Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, international law and Israel's obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and stressed that the attacks must stop.

Al-Shaibani and Safadi warned of the consequences of continued Israeli attacks for Syria's security and stability as well as regional security and stability, stressing the need to end Israel's occupation of occupied Syrian territory and to respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Al-Shaibani and Safadi also discussed regional developments and highlighted the importance of continuing coordination and consultations in order to end escalation, restore calm and establish sustainable security and stability.

The two ministers condemned Iranian attacks on Jordan and other Arab countries and expressed full solidarity in confronting these attacks. Al-Shaibani said Syria stands with Jordan and other Arab countries in all measures they take to protect their territory, sovereignty and security from repeated Iranian attacks.

The parties agreed to continue consultations, communication and coordination between the relevant authorities in order to maintain cooperation between the two countries and implement the matters agreed upon.
