Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made a statement regarding the images from Ashdod, the situation of the detained activists, and international law.

Reacting to the images that emerged, Sybiha said, "The images from Ashdod showing the humiliating and degrading treatment of activists detained after the flotilla heading to Gaza was stopped are extremely disturbing."

Emphasizing that the treatment does not comply with humanitarian values, Sybiha said, "Such treatment is unacceptable and incompatible with respect for human dignity, human rights, and international law. Public humiliation of detainees can never be justified."

Calling for the activists to be released, Sybiha concluded his statement by saying, "The detained activists must be released and their safe return must be ensured with full respect for their rights and dignity."
