Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced that Somaliland has opened an embassy in Jerusalem.

Sa’ar said he inaugurated the embassy together with Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, describing the move as “important and bold.”

The statement noted that relations between Israel and Somaliland are not only at government level but also based on strong ties between the peoples.

Sa’ar also said, “The Somaliland Embassy is the eighth embassy opened in Jerusalem, and the third opened during my term as Foreign Minister. I will continue strengthening Jerusalem’s status as our eternal capital.”
