Russia criticizes Japan's defense policies
Moscow, Aug. 6 (Hibya) - Russia's Foreign Ministry claimed that Japan is pursuing a policy of rearmament, arguing that Tokyo's departure from the pacifist provisions of its constitution is weakening regional security.

In its statement, the ministry claimed that Japan is "moving toward remilitarization under fabricated pretexts."
Russian Foreign Ministry official Fadeyev stated that Tokyo's steps away from the pacifist provisions of Japan's Constitution, as well as its disregard for the lessons of World War II, are negatively affecting regional security.
The statement further argued that Japan's defense policies pose a risk to regional stability.
