The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed Belgium's decision to ban products imported from Israeli settlements.

In a statement, the ministry described the decision as "an important step in line with international law," saying that it reflects Belgium's commitment to international justice.

The statement also stressed that the decision is consistent with the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice. Calling on "other governments and parliaments to follow Belgium's example," the ministry said that products from settlements should be banned, trade and investment relations with settlements should be ended, and accountability mechanisms should be strengthened.
