Meloni: We have taken concrete measures to support families, businesses, and workers
Rome, May 23 (Hibya)- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni shared the details of the new economic support package approved by the Council of Ministers.
Meloni, in a statement following the Council of Ministers meeting, announced that new economic measures aimed at supporting families, businesses, and workers had been approved.
In her statement, Meloni said, “During last night’s Council of Ministers meeting, we adopted concrete measures to support families, businesses, and workers at a time still marked by tensions in international markets.”
Under the decisions taken, it was stated that fuel taxes would be reduced, the duration of tax credits for road transportation would be extended with a 300 million euro allocation, support for the agricultural sector would be increased, and the National Fund for local public transportation would be raised by 80 million euros annually.
Meloni also stated that security and land protection measures for the Niscemi region had been approved.
The Italian government aims, through these measures, to protect citizens’ purchasing power, support the production system, and build a structure more resilient to economic fluctuations.
