Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that a policy is being pursued in Europe to eliminate dependence on Russian oil and gas, stating: “In Europe, a policy is being pursued to get rid of dependence on Russian oil and gas. Europe is beginning to understand that if it frees itself from dependence on Russian oil and gas, it may fall into energy dependence on another major power. This is part of the West’s approach, based on its experience of hundreds of years of global dominance.”

Lavrov also said: “Russia and China are playing a role that supports the new trends emerging in international relations and provides stability.”
