Kosherbayev meets with Georgian Prime Minister Kobakhidze
Tbilisi, April 7 (Hibya) – Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ermek Kosherbayev met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during an official visit, discussing political, economic, and logistical cooperation between the two countries.

During the talks, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening political dialogue and implementing previously agreed matters at a high level. They discussed current issues in bilateral relations in the fields of trade and economy, investment, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
As of 2025, trade volume between Kazakhstan and Georgia reached 184.5 million dollars, and the parties emphasized the need to take practical steps to increase it. They expressed interest in mutually increasing direct investments and implementing joint projects in logistics, infrastructure, and trade.
Kosherbayev stated that Kazakhstan is ready to expand cooperation with Georgia in developing transport routes in the Caspian-Black Sea basin. In this context, the critical importance of utilizing the capacities of both countries’ seaports during cargo transportation was emphasized.
One of the priorities of cooperation between the two countries remains the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The new multimodal terminal project implemented in 2025 at Georgia’s Poti Port with the participation of Kazakh investors was specifically discussed. The terminal will increase cargo transportation capacity and become an important link in the “Middle Corridor” logistics chain.
During the talks, various other issues in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation were also discussed. The parties also exchanged views on current issues on the regional and international agenda.
