Kos: Europe stands in solidarity with Armenia
Brussels, June 4 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stated that she is pleased that the EU-Armenia Task Force, agreed upon by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, will begin its work.
European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos spoke about the strategic and economic partnership steps between the European Union (EU) and Armenia, as well as geopolitical developments in the region.
Highlighting the newly established mechanism and the EU’s support, Kos said, “I look forward to the start of the work of the EU-Armenia Task Force agreed upon today by President von der Leyen and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Europe stands in solidarity with Armenia in the face of Russia’s economic pressure.”
Kos stated that the support packages and economic measures committed by the EU would help mitigate the impact in the region, adding, “The EU’s financial assistance, trade measures and solidarity will help ease the pressure. I look forward to returning to Armenia very soon.”
