Italian Prime Minister Meloni denied allegations of ties to organized crime
Rome, April 7 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, responding to allegations by some media outlets about links to organized crime, said that her relationship with her father ended when she was 11 years old and that her stance against the mafia is clear.
Italian Prime Minister Meloni commented on reports by media outlets such as Il Fatto Quotidiano, La Repubblica, Fanpage, and Report, which raised allegations about her links to organized crime.
Meloni stated that the photographs mentioned in the allegations were only taken during interactions with the public and said that she cut all ties with her father at the age of 11. The prime minister said that anti-mafia policies were maintained during her governments and that measures were taken against the release of mafia leaders on COVID-19 grounds.
Meloni stressed that the allegations were politically motivated and that the reports circulating in the media were far from impartial journalism. The prime minister added that she would not be affected by such attacks.
