Herzog calls for election security ahead of 26th Knesset elections
Jerusalem, October 4 (Hibya) - Israeli President Isaac Herzog met with representatives of technology companies and social media platforms ahead of the 26th Knesset elections to safeguard the integrity of the elections and ensure information security in the age of artificial intelligence.
Israeli President Herzog shared a post on his social media account regarding efforts to safeguard the integrity of the elections ahead of the 26th Knesset elections.
Herzog said they met at the President’s Residence with Central Elections Committee Chairman Judge Noam Solberg and representatives of technology companies and social media platforms, including Google, Microsoft, Meta and TikTok.
Herzog said the meeting addressed strengthening cooperation to protect the integrity of the elections and enhance information security in the age of artificial intelligence, stressing that everyone must act responsibly.
Herzog urged citizens to remain vigilant against misinformation, carefully assess the content they encounter and refrain from sharing it without verification. The Israeli Presidency had previously issued similar calls for caution and responsibility in consuming and sharing content in the social media age during election processes.
