Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani received United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres and his accompanying delegation in Damascus.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, the meeting discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation between Syria and the UN, reviewed regional and international developments, and reaffirmed Syria's unity.

The parties also discussed steps to support the country's stabilization and recovery processes, as well as strengthening coordination in the fields of humanitarian assistance and development.
