Dar: 6 injured Pakistani sailors return home
Islamabad, August 20 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that 6 Pakistani sailors injured in a Houthi attack returned safely to their country.
Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that 6 Pakistani sailors injured in a Houthi attack on a Tanzania-flagged commercial vessel had returned home.
Dar said that the bodies of 2 Pakistani sailors who were killed in the attack were also brought back to the country. He noted that all relevant stakeholders had been instructed to ensure the safe, dignified and swift repatriation of the sailors.
Dar expressed appreciation for the efforts of Pakistan's Consulate General in Jeddah and Embassy in Riyadh to repatriate the injured sailors and the bodies despite Pakistan having no diplomatic mission in Yemen, and also thanked the Saudi Foreign Ministry for the medical assistance and arrangements it provided.
Dar said Pakistan condemned the attack in the strongest terms and stressed that the safety of sailors must be ensured at all times.
