Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Secretary General Ambassador Sohail Mahmood.

Providing details on the scope of the meeting, Bayramov said: “I was pleased to meet with D-8 Secretary General Ambassador Sohail Mahmood on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. We discussed ways to further strengthen the Azerbaijan - D-8 partnership in key areas such as trade, energy, investment, and connectivity.”

Addressing Azerbaijan’s activities within the organization, Bayramov said: “We emphasized Azerbaijan’s active role within D-8, including hosting D-8 Week and advancing cooperation initiatives in energy, media, and transport.”

Emphasizing that they also touched upon global issues and humanitarian values, Bayramov concluded his statement with the following words:

“We exchanged views on global challenges such as energy and food security, climate change, and the need to reduce tensions in the Middle East, while also ensuring the protection of civilians and respect for international humanitarian law.”
