Baqaei: It was decided to continue discussions at the expert and technical levels
Tehran, June 22 (Hibya) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated that the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran will return home following intensive discussions regarding the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding on Ending the War.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei commented on the negotiations held in Switzerland regarding the June 18, 1405 Memorandum of Understanding on Ending the War and the joint statement issued by the mediator countries.
Providing information on the schedule and content of the talks, Baqaei said: "These discussions, which focused on paragraphs 1, 5, 10 and 11 of the Memorandum of Understanding, began on the morning of Sunday, June 31, in Switzerland (Lake Lucerne) and continued until the early hours of Monday, July 2."
Referring to the joint text prepared with the participation of the mediator countries and the next phase of the process, Baqaei stated: "In the joint statement of the mediator countries (Qatar and Pakistan), prepared in consultation with Iran and the United States, implementation mechanisms were envisaged to monitor the application of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding, and it was decided that discussions at the expert and technical levels would continue in order to advance the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding aimed at ending the imposed war."
