According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the meeting reviewed issues related to the Kazakhstan–India strategic partnership and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening political dialogue and expanding mutual cooperation.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev held talks with India's Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Y.K. Sailas Thangal. According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on bilateral strategic partnership issues while reaffirming the determination to strengthen political dialogue and expand mutual cooperation.

The meeting also highlighted cooperation within the BRICS framework. Ashikbayev congratulated India on assuming the 2026 BRICS Presidency under the theme "Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability" and expressed confidence in the successful implementation of its agenda. It was emphasized that Kazakhstan, as a BRICS Partner Country, is ready to contribute in priority areas such as trade, investment, transport connectivity, digitalization, artificial intelligence, energy and sustainable development.

The parties also reviewed the preparations, key agenda items and organizational details of the 18th BRICS Summit, which will be held in New Delhi on September 12-13, 2026.
